Fullerene is an allotrope of carbon. It is made as a result of the action of a laser beam or strongly heating graphite in the presence of an inert atmosphere. Most common fullerene is C60 called buckminsterfullerene(football structure). It has 20 hexagonal six-membered ring and 12 pentagonal five-membered ring and the ring structures are aromatic. It is different from diamond and graphite due to its shape and arrangement.
