NANDIKA NATH MUKHERJEE (Artistic Director of DANCEA) - A distinctive dancer with an amalgamation of Indian classical and western flair. Academically, she is a Graduate in Computer Science and holds an MBA. She withdrew her promising corporate career as a banker to unfold her passion for dance. A “Sangeet Bhushan” with Distinction in Kathak from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, she pursued dance as her calling for life, under the guidance of Sri Shankar Ghatak. She is still continuing her kathak practice under the guidance of Vidushi Smt. Durga Arya Ji ( Prime disciple of Padma Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj Ji). She is a “Sangeet Manjari” in Rabindra Nritya from Bangiya Sangeet Parishad. To evolve and extend her dance and movement vocabulary, she has also treaded in western dance. She was a ‘Scholar Student’ at DanceworX and Swingers Dance Company. She learned Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, HipHop and Latin. She worked as an Instructor, Performer and Choreographer at The Swingers Dance Company affiliated to Broadway Dance Center, New York. She also holds TTC 200 hours in Yoga from Yoga Alliance(USA). Her learning experience is also extended to teaching in top international schools across India. She has also choreographed in a few short films and Feature films. By means of several dance forms, her contemporary dance approach is harmonised with physical, mental and spiritual blend.
