Madhumithaa

I am Madhumithaa, and I have been teaching Bharatanatyam for the past 10 years, guiding students from beginner to advanced levels with dedication and passion. Bharatanatyam is more than just a dance form for me—it is a beautiful blend of discipline, tradition, storytelling, and artistic expression. My goal as a teacher is to help every student develop not only strong technical skills but also a genuine appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of this classical art form.

I hold a Diploma in Bharatanatyam and am certified in Performing Arts from Reva University. In addition, I have completed my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics, which has strengthened my analytical thinking and disciplined approach to teaching. My academic background, combined with years of classical dance training, allows me to conduct well-structured classes that balance technical precision with artistic creativity.

One of the greatest influences on my artistic journey has been my training under Shri Krishnamurthy (Kittu Sir), a disciple of the legendary Rukmini Devi Arundale. Being part of this distinguished Kalakshetra lineage has given me a deep understanding of authentic Bharatanatyam techniques, graceful movements, and the traditional values that define this timeless classical dance form. I strive to preserve these traditions while making learning enjoyable and accessible for today's students.

Over the years, I have trained students from different age groups and skill levels, helping them build strong foundations in posture, adavus, rhythm, expressions (abhinaya), and stage presentation. I have guided students preparing for cultural performances, examinations, and stage productions, ensuring that they develop both technical excellence and confidence as performers. Watching my students grow into accomplished dancers has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my teaching journey.

My teaching methodology is structured, systematic, and rooted in traditional Bharatanatyam training. I follow a carefully planned lesson sequence where students progress step by step, mastering each concept before moving to the next level. My classes are highly practical, with a strong emphasis on repetition, rhythm, body alignment, expressions, and regular practice. I also encourage interaction during every session so that students can clarify their doubts and understand the significance of every movement and composition they learn.

I offer both online and offline classes, making it convenient for students to pursue their passion for Bharatanatyam regardless of their location. My objective is to create a supportive and inspiring learning environment where students develop discipline, confidence, and a lifelong love for classical dance. Through consistent guidance, personalized attention, and authentic training rooted in tradition, I am committed to helping every learner progress confidently on their Bharatanatyam journey.
