At first, you should know the prelims and mains syllabus
Select the optional subject strategically so that it adds to your score and helps the preparation of GS papers. It depends on one's interests too.
Preparation for both prelims and mains should happen together.
For GS-I, II&III papers, start with NCERT books.
Then refer to individual prescribed books like Laxmikanth for Indian polity, Ramesh Singh for Economics, Spectrum for History. Refer MRUNAL IAS website for more textbooks for each subject.
Carry on your hard work. The preparation should start at least a year before.
For current affairs, The Hindu or Indian Express newspapers would do. Daily referring to them is a must. Also go through Vision IAS, Insights material for it.
CSAT preparation- refer to RS Agarwal. Since it is of qualifying nature, knowing basics would do. This also makes partial preparation for GS4 paper
Refer to above said websites for books and materials on ethics and integrity.
Watch Rajyasabha TV, Gyandarshan from IGNOU TV channels as and when possible.
