Hindustani Music Classes

"I started from zero 8 months back. I had no idea about what singing is all about. Debaleena mam started grooming me from an absolute naive and today I am very close to singing the notes correctly (it actually takes a lot of time, also depends on practice). I don’t know if singing can be taught any better. Mam, has lot of patience and treats her students as individuals who might need extra help. She is always approachable to answer your questions. The environment at her school is always active with events and she always encourages you to volunteer to perform. Even during the COVID times my class has progressed a lot as Mam rightly used technology platform to continue teaching us. Mam’s knowledge and singing skills are like Saraswati herself! No one except Shiva is a perfect singer and the best singers are still learning. A guru is no one but a senior student who shows you the path, walking on which you enhance your skills. Hindustani classical is an ancient art that needs you to be dedicated to the process rather than the results. As time goes by, my respect for the art and my Guru (Smt. Debaleena) increases! "

"Structure is good. Mam will teach and practice is on us. So, we'll improve if we practice. She provides corrections to vocal techniques. My voice texture and control has improved. "

"She focuses more on theory than vocals in classes - If you would like to be trained under a good vocalist suggest you to look for better options . "
