So personally, I had a really tough time learning in school, for several reasons. Though the main one is that most of the syllabus was based on memorisation more than understanding. I tried extremely hard to understand what I was learning, though a lot of my attempts seemed futile. I think that’s around the time when my passion for teaching actually reached a point wherein instead of dreaming about it, I actually wanted to do something about it.
I truly enjoy giving lessons to people, regardless of their age or experience because it is so rewarding seeing someone learn while understanding as opposed to simply mugging up certain formulae or poems, which, if we face it, wouldn’t last very long before an individual gets mentally exhausted.
So yes, my passion is people. I understand that everyone is unique and therefore I don’t have a single approach I take with any student. My approach, even with a group, is mainly to focus on every individual’s needs.
