Why AutoCAD isn`t appropriate for 3D modeling?

It is not a parametric software, which means you can not identify the step in which a particular operation was done in the past also, no design rule can be built in the model. 2. It does not support assemblies 3. It employs Boolean operations to generate the 3D geometry which is a very primitive method of geometry creation. 4. It is practically impossible to create sheetmetal parts in AutoCAD. read less

AutoCAD takes time for converting drawing for 3d , that is called rendering. System hardware requirements is so high for rendering. AutoCAD doesn't have that much capacity.

Because 3D mode of AUTO-CAD is very tough to use and consumes lot of time in making model of even simple objects or structures, whereas 2D mode of AUTO-CAD is very easy to use ,But you can use other popular 3D modelling software like 3Ds max, sketch-up.

Your question is like why we choose airplane for travel instead of train or bus. Autocad is designed only for drafting purpose but you can learn basics of 3d modelling from autocad. Autodesk has designed this software. For 3d purpose they designed other software like 3dx max etc.
