AutoCAD is not preferred for 3D modelling for the following reasons: 1. It is not a parametric software, which means you can not identify the step in which a particular operation was done in the past also, no design rule can be built in the model. 2. It does not support assemblies 3. It employs Boolean operations to generate the 3D geometry which is a very primitive method of geometry creation. 4. It is practically impossible to create sheetmetal parts in AutoCAD. read less

AutoCAD takes time for converting drawing for 3d , that is called rendering. System hardware requirements is so high for rendering. AutoCAD doesn't have that much capacity.
