Ofcourse CATIA... in terms of Everything, But most people use AutoCAD as well for Initial Stages of Designing or Development becasue - The Speed you get here in AutoCAD while working with it, you don't get in any other CAD Platform,It doesn't need a powerful Computer to run with. - It's way cheap to buy than CATIA. -You need hell lots of Modifications when you develop new Design (When we design something we design in 2D-Orthographic Views), for what AutoCAD is best tool. - The Initial Designs work as Reference Design to any further processings like needs of modifications as per customer requirements, which will need CAD or CAE (Simulations), CAM (Automated Manufacturing) orCorporate needs like pursuading clients with help of Visualized 3D Models, Animations, and Documentations, that's where we need 3D Design CAD Softwares like SolidWorks or CATIA. So the answer is, You gotta learn both, if this question was about decesion making before starting a CAD Course. read less
