Ph.D in “Comparative Studies of Different Preservation Methods of Plants Specimens and Their Impact on Quality and Quantity of DNA”. This research explores preservation of plant specimens have been prepared for different purpose including display in museums. Several chemical preservatives like: formal alcohol, formaldehyde and acetic acid are commonly used for the wet preservation technique. Dry preservation like herbarium, seeds, bark, timber, are also used in preserving a number of museum specimens. But the preserved specimens using these techniques subsequently show some physical and biological deformities like de-colorization, cellular deformation. Therefore, a comparative study of plant specimens prepared in various liquid preservatives like formalin, alcohol, formaldehyde, acetic acid, etc in different concentration and combinations was used for experiment to get better result including DNA quality. Comparative study of preserved plant specimen by using organic and inorganic pesticides was experimented in herbarium collections. Herbarium was prepared by using different methods and techniques like natural dry preservation, was experimented for making comparative study of different methods. It is necessary to improve the quality of preservation to get better quality of DNA of preserved specimen for future research like regeneration of extinct species. Thousands of plant species have already become extinct in recent years and many more plant species are on the verge of extinction.
