Masking layers is a valuable compositing technique for combining multiple photos into a single image or for removing a person or object from a photo. In Simple way , you can say layers are like transparent pages , on that you can edit some photos or draw images & shuffle between the layers , keeping them on each other or below each other . Musk is like covering a part or the whole image ( in layer ) which become invisible ( the masked part ) again if required you can unmask it.. read less
