How To Convert Autocad Plan To A 3d Model In 3ds Max?

If you have a existing cad plan and want to make a 3d model of the same in 3DS Max, well here are a few steps that an intermediate student of AutoDesk 3ds max student should know.

You need a to have a cad plan first . Simply save the cad file in AutoCAD 2004 format. And import the entire file in 3Ds max by clicking import tab in file menu of 3ds max. Simply tracke the required portion with lines from spline menu. Don't forget to keep the snap on.

Once you have closed the spline select the extrude in modifier list. That's about it. You will have the basic model ready within no time.
