For some, mathematics felt intimidating because of its formulas, abstract concepts, and problem-solving approach. However, I have always found the subject exciting and enjoyed understanding the logic behind different concepts. Because of this interest, I naturally started becoming an unofficial tutor for my peer group. Whenever my friends faced difficulties, I would help them identify where they were getting stuck, clear their doubts, and explain concepts in a simpler and more intuitive way. Instead of simply giving them solutions, I focused on explaining the reasoning behind each step so that they could solve similar problems independently. Before major examinations, I regularly helped my peers revise important topics, understand difficult formulas, and practice problems. I also experimented with different explanations depending on how each person learned best. This experience taught me that a concept that seems difficult initially can become much easier when explained clearly and patiently. Seeing my friends become more confident and perform better in mathematics motivated me to continue tutoring. It also helped me develop communication, patience, and problem-solving skills that I believe are essential for an effective tutor.
