Pink Floyd, “Careful With That Axe, Eugene” A song from 1969 that some say is terrifying and full of ominous sound. Psycho: Bernard Herrmann The score for Hitchcock's 1960 horror film Psycho is considered to have set the tone for horror scoring, with its iconic violin stabs. Minor keys and tritone chords can also make music sound unsettling.
