No, its very interesting and easy to learn if you choose the right roadmap i.e. if you learn the topics in the correct sequence. It is mostly about statistics and machine learning algorithms. So you must learn computer programming with focus on machine learning and database management systems.
With time, effort and right guidence you can easily master it.
