Python is primarly used for fast web backend development, this is because of its simple syntax. Its requires apprximately 1/3 lines of code to do the same task if done by any other programming language.
Since its a scientific programming language it is best suited for small to mid sized mathematical, statistical, and modern AI applications like machine learning, deep learning and natural language processing.

No, its very interesting and easy to learn if you choose the right roadmap i.e. if you learn the topics in the correct sequence. It is mostly about statistics and machine learning algorithms. So you must learn computer programming with focus on machine learning and database management systems.
With time, effort and right guidence you can easily master it.
