Valentin Spasov

I am Valentin Spasov, a classical guitar teacher, since 1989. I teach guitar to children, adults, beginners, advanced students, and even professionals. On this website, you’ll find general information about my activities as a teacher, composer, and performer.

My Teaching Approach
I primarily offer one-on-one lessons, but I also teach group classes. My teaching methods are conventional, and I don’t promise anything extraordinary. If you become my student, you’ll find that I often offer exercises or music pieces that I’ve written specifically for you. I believe that everyone is unique, and composing an exercise or a piece tailored to a student’s musical ability and personality adds great value—for both the student and me as a teacher.

Compositions and Arrangements
Another passion of mine is writing original compositions and arrangements for guitar orchestras. Over the years, I’ve found it challenging to find scores for my ensemble that match the skills of all players. This inspired me to start writing my own. I’ve created a great number of arrangements and original compositions for guitar orchestra, and I’m currently in the process of editing them. Soon, these will be available here.

Online Lessons
In addition to conventional teaching, I also offer online guitar lessons. The advantage of online lessons is that you don’t need to spend time commuting; everything happens in the comfort of your home or wherever you are. All you need is a computer and a guitar. Many people think that online lessons aren’t as effective as in-person sessions, but I encourage you to try it out first. This method of teaching is just as interactive and productive as traditional lessons. I explain and demonstrate new concepts, the student practices, and then we review their progress in the next lesson.

Teaching Adults
Teaching adults is something I do with great passion. I offer group lessons for adults using a system I developed called the “Classical Guitar Course for Adults.”-four volumes which i wrote in 2009. Initially, I was hesitant about teaching adults, but over time, I met many dedicated guitar enthusiasts who wanted to learn guitar not just for fun, but also to become teachers or professional musicians.

This system later become a base for my “Classical Guitar Course for Adults” online series published on Udemy.
