Combining atomic orbital should have almost same energy and there should be matching orbital on trend of symmetry. Also need proper orientation of atomic orbital for better overlap

Answer is both a and b. Reading: One is bonding character of co , no+, n2 is almost same.ie .both having pi back bonding. But n2 is not polar and has strong pi back bond since bond order is purely 3. In CO and no+ bond order not exactly 3. Even no+ has linear or bent geometry based on hybridization.... ...more
