When a layer of cold air close to the ground is covered by a layer of warmer air, sound waves traveling upward may be bent, or refracted, by the difference in temperature and redirected toward the ground. so an observer experiences loud sound

There is a phenomenon called refraction that affects the direction of soundpropagation. ... So to summarise, sound is louder at night due to the change in the direction of sound refraction, which is caused by the reversal of the temperature gradient from day to night.

Application oriented with 10 yrs exp

sound waves behaves differently at night. There is a concept called refraction. That affects the sound propagation. you can think differently too, the other particles in air is not up to the level at nights.

Since density of moist air is less than dry air and we know that speed of sound inversely proportional to the squire root of density that is why speed of sound in moist air is more than dry air and becomes louder in night

sounddoes travel faster in warm airBUT it may appear to travel farther in cold air. …if the airclose to the ground is colderthan the air above it then sound waves travelling upwards will be bent downwards.

Due to the refraction ofsoundwave

Marks are only some numbers and thts why i want to pull your hidden talent to outside world and let them know what you are.

As we knw sound travel faster in denser medium like solid, similarly cold night have high density of molecule in air then summer days or night, so it's seems Lauder in cold night
