If functional you definitely have to choose a Functional module like SD,MM,EWM etc based on your domain experience or based on your aptitude and learn delta changes on S4 HANA application side and get hands on  related to application area

There is a lot of scope for Vistex being spreading accross in Europe/ North America as that is a scalable Product  on Promotions and built for SAP ( add on), lot of Retail clients/ whole sale/ Agri domaina  and lot of other domain having scope on Promotion management well adapt the Vistex tool for it's sub modules Charge Backs, Bill backs, commisions, Incentives and other Master data management tools .

Vistex is a niche module yet very protected for it's proprietary norms and processes, if you are trained and get a chance to work on Vistex, continue to work and groom you career which will be lucrative in terms of perks and consulting career

With SAP transforming it's facilitated DB onto It's own DB and developing the frame work like Leonardo ( which facilitates Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, IoT etc) High level of automation is possible with  in the Functional modules used

SAP is transforming it's  Application core as S/4 HANA which is also called Simplified Applications be it on S/4 HANA Finanace, S/4 HANA Logistics, HRMS applications etc.

The changes have 2 fold effect 1. From User simplification/ User Experience etc 2. Configuration Business flows/ Consultant perspective

To conclude being simple is not easy for the consultants as one needs to understand the architecture which runs on in memory computing and to adapt the changes in the application side, understanding the changed life cycle like Activate methodology, Design thinking to make the solution more agile
