CETs are generally designed to assess candidates for a broad range of government jobs, while the SSC CGL prelims specifically assesses candidates for posts under the Staff Selection Commission, which have a specific syllabus covering Quantitative Aptitude, English, Reasoning, and General Studies. A CET's syllabus would vary depending on the job level (e.g., 10th, 12th, or graduate level). 

The main difference is that CET (Common Entrance Test) syllabi vary by the exam, with some like the Maharashtra CET for MCA focusing on Math, Reasoning, English, and Computer Concepts, while others, like the MHT-CET for professional courses, cover Class 11 and 12 subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. In contrast, the NMAT (National Management Aptitude Test) syllabus has a consistent three-part structure of Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning, designed for management programs. 

The IMU-CET is a moderate-level exam based on the Class 11 and 12 syllabus for undergraduate courses, while postgraduate and diploma programs have a separate syllabus that can include advanced topics and specific engineering subjects. The syllabus for the common undergraduate entrance test includes Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English, with the first three being based on the 12th-grade curriculum, along with a section on General Knowledge. 

The IMU CET syllabus for the B.Sc. in Nautical Science includes Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and General Knowledge & Aptitude from the Class 11 and 12 curriculum. Questions are multiple-choice and cover topics from these subjects, including areas like mechanics, algebra, logical reasoning, and maritime-related general knowledge.
