Chessology

Chessology is a structured chess coaching initiative focused on helping children and beginners learn, understand, and enjoy the game of chess.

Our coaching is designed for students aged 3–16 years, from complete beginners to players looking to strengthen their fundamentals and competitive skills. Classes are conducted online and offline, with individual as well as small-group batches.

Chessology is led by Nikhil Kiran Pulekar, a FIDE-rated chess coach with 7+ years of coaching experience and 150+ students coached. With FIDE ratings of 1576 Standard, 1577 Rapid, and 1589 Blitz, the coaching combines practical playing experience with a structured teaching approach.

What We Focus On

• Chess fundamentals and rules
• Piece movement, captures and special moves
• Check, checkmate and basic mating patterns
• Tactics, combinations and calculation
• Opening principles and development
• Middlegame concepts and simple strategies
• Endgame fundamentals
• Practical games and position analysis
• Tournament preparation and game improvement

We emphasize concept-based learning rather than memorizing moves. Students learn through interactive explanations, puzzles, guided practice, practical games, analysis, regular assessments and personalized feedback.

Beyond chess, the program aims to develop concentration, logical thinking, calculation, problem-solving, patience, discipline, decision-making and confidence.
