Skill means the ability to do something well. Different types of skills are required for an individual. Eg. Job skills, Life Skills, Student skills and sports skills.

1st identify your skills.

2. List your skills.

3. Classify your expertise.

E.g. 1. Assume you have amazing coordination skills. Then it will use in your Job or Sports. It won't be of much use in your study area (what I am trying to say is, you can co-ordinate with people and win as a team in Job or Sports. but you have to prepare for your exams since your success is more important).

Eg. 2. Assume you have excellent grasping skills. You can directly apply to your student life and learn quickly as many things as you can. My answer is different in a way that. You have to choose the skill that you have to practice.

In my experience, if you are a student, then you have to practice grasping skills rather coordination skills because it's more important now. As far as you are a student, you have to choose the necessary skills for your student life and practice; the same is what required.

Your question is tricky; it consists of two different parts:

1. Helps in your study: Online tutions helps you to cover the syllabus provided if you find an appropriate teacher who teaches you online. So it helps in your study.

2. Scoring high: Scoring high marks depends on how you prepare for your exam, say, more revisions, writing mock tests and also a little luck factor, etc.

Even though online teachers conduct mock tests, it's about you; how you write that test without proper supervision and copying etc. So online helps but you have to work double to make it useful.
