The latter is only spoken in Tamil Nadu, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Malaysia. If you are in a Tamil-speaking region, Tamil is more important for daily communication, local identity, and cultural pride. If you need to interact with people worldwide or work in global industries, English is more important as it provides access to education, jobs, and international opportunities. So it totally depends upon the place where a person lives. read less
