The Tamil script is distinct from the Devanagari script used for Sanskrit. Tamil literature dates back to ancient times, and it has its own rich literary tradition. Tamil has its own system of numerals and has not borrowed any numerals from Sanskrit. The pronunciation of Tamil is also distinct from Sanskrit, and there are no grammatical similarities between the two languages. Therefore, Tamil language is free from Sanskrit influence. read less
