Find out what projection the vector map data has, in Tableau Project your raster data in that format outside of Tableau using other external software Convert raster map data to one of these image formats that Tableau supports using third party converters Try to import (or 'place' to use Adobe term) this external data as "a layer" in Tableau. If successful and if possible, try to place this raster data manually over the the vector map (in other words, if referencing in Tableau does not work, you are manually spatially referencing and registering one data type with another) If this works you may want to automate your steps in Tableau (or outside) so it can work repeatedly with consistent results. Note: even if this works, this is a "hack". It is NOT a professional or accurate solution. It may just give you a visually acceptable solution. Send a detailed list of suggested API for these steps to be developed to Tableau. read less

Does data and visualization on the Tableau Public version necessarily have to be public? Can I create visualization that I don't want to share publicly?

How is Tableau Desktop is different from Tableau Public?
Bot are almost similar, but limitations at public, which we can not connect to DBs and do not have LIVE and EXTRACT Connection.
