Ofcourse you are right . A alone stock you make a rich person on long time investment. If you invest 10000 in wipro 1980 now your money is 1800 cr in present time so you can think about long term investment power.

The answer to this question is an emphatic NO. Reason, stock alone cannot make you rich. You need to have a strong strategy which has clearly worked in various scenarios through extensive back testing.
