Children at lower grades need conceptual learning encased in stories, examples from their own life and lots of fun oriented but connected to topic sessions. They are looking for how they can apply themselves to use their knowledge to understand concepts in other subjects. Integrated approach works best with the lower grades and not rigid dependency ondefinitions, formulae and structures. Structure should be taught with playfulness and integratin in mind. I have been lucky to have students who would come and say that what they studied in lower grades with me have been helpful in higher grades as I would teach a grade with what they have learnt in teh previous grades, or ask them to make a book about sharks shaped as a shark, so children found reasons to engage any study on their own. I used blogs to flip classrooms when the concept was not talked of in school circles. Engagement and application was the main key of study in my classes
