About me

I have been working as a tutor, I have taught student from nursery to class IV, all subject, class V to VI except English and Math. I love making the students understand the topic. I love providing values other than subject knowledge. Life is not all about learning subject, but also to learn how to leave and inspire others too. I don't possess B.ed degree, but believe degree will not make a better teacher. I am teaching at Birla Divya Jyoti, Siliguri as Computer teacher and enjoy my work

About me

I am having more than 6 years of teaching experience in CBSE, IGCSE, ICSE, ISC, and Bhutan Board curriculum. I am also well versed in teaching with the help of Smart Boards, multimedia, and Google Apps in teaching. I was recently awarded a congratulatory certificate from Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India for being a capable teacher. I have an undying passion to work with young minds, moulding them to stand the tide of time and change in this ever evolving modern world. I am passionate about my work and like to instill in each child hunger for knowledge, excellence, and a secular ethos. Moreover, I am a multi-tasker who believe in growing and learning with my kids. I have experience of working in a multi - cultural expatriate environment. I have over the years devised many techniques and innovations that has been appreciated and helped my students to learn science. Innovation 1: To memorize the first twenty elements of a Periodic Table in order of their periodicity, I have devised this: SUCCESS MANTRA Practise this Periodically and have Success on your Table Hi (Hydrogen- H), Hello!! (Helium- He) Lethargy (Lithium- Li) Beware! (Beryllium- Be) Burn (Boron- B) your Calorie (Carbon- C). Say NO (Nitrogen- N) (Oxygen- O) to Flippancy (Fluorine- F), Negative (Neon- Ne) and Naïve (Sodium- Na) attitude. Magnetize (Magnesium- Mg) All (Aluminum- Al) with your Simple (Silicon- Si) and Philanthropist (Phosphorus- P) nature. So (Sulphur- S), Clamp (Chlorine- Cl) these and be the Architect (Argon- Ar) of your future. Kudos (Potassium- K) for your bright Caricature/ Career!! (Calcium- Ca) Innovation 2: Easiest way to remember and not confuse between Anode and Cathode is Anode (Positively charged electrode) A for Anode, A for Addition, i.e., + charged electrode Anode attracts Anions that are negatively charged ( - ) ions. Innovation 3: The easy way to remember Binomial Nomenclature, like, Cotton: Gossypium herbaceum Idea: When you go to Gossip(um), you wear your Cotton clothes, not your costly silks! If you keep on gossiping you won’t grow into a tall tree but remain a small herb(acium). Cockroach: Periplaneta americana Idea: Cockroach is found everywhere, i.e., on the Periphery of our Planet (Periplanata) and is found in India as well as America(na) Walking Catfish: Clarius batrachus Idea: Catfish’s body is without any scales, i.e., clear (Clarius) and we often use butter (batrachus) to fry it. Innovation 4: The following started off as an innovation but then because of its grand success it was implemented in almost all schools that I have worked. Waste Disposal and Waste Management Techniques: Objectives: As a modern teacher who likes to teach with the help of activities and applications of science in daily life, I innovated and implemented this novel approach by deploying my students on hands on training on how to manage school wastes. Wastes play havoc in our locality. Wastes can harbour harmful microbes, and more importantly can lead to Global Warming causing GHG emission, Methane, which invariably leads to Climate Change. So, cultivating the habit of proper Waste Disposal and Waste Management from grass root level will educate the futures of tomorrow how to deal with the increasing menace of Global Warming. Das Daily Dump: Das Daily Dump ® (UK Patent No. DS/IFC/DDD-492010 Status: Applied and Pending) was selected for WWF sponsored All Bhutan School level contest titled “Idea for Change 2010”. This model is used to recycle Kitchen Wastes, Garden Wastes and Food Wastes from Schools into Organic Compost. Das Daily Dump was also the only school – level idea among 1982 ideas from Bhutan that was submitted to UN sponsored global project that was implemented by 182 countries called One Planet Ideas on 10/10/10 (10th October, 2010). This particular day was chosen by UN to launch this project for making an archive of ideas from across the globe that centres on preserving the Nature and its Natural Resources. Also the UN had earlier declared 2010 as the International Year of Biodiversity. This idea was successfully implemented at Druk School on 10/10/10 by my Class 6 kids on the premises. The video was shot and uploaded by me on 10/10/10 on One Day On Earth website as planned by the UN project. Also, I had come up with a process to MONITOR the amount of wastes each classroom produces on a daily basis and I used to award points to them at the end of each day. This continued till the end of the month on all school days. At the end of each month, an average score was created for each classroom or block and the highest pointer classes or blocks (highest points to lowest waste producing class or block and the lowest points to the highest waste producing class or block) were awarded with the Waste Management Rolling Trophy. The average points for each class also added on to the House Points and at the year end, a lump sum award was given to the best class. Also at the end of each month, a BAR GRAPH on Waste Management used to be brought out that was pasted on the school notice board with the signature of the principal. Given an opportunity, I would like to implement the same at your school.
