Ishita

I am a sculptor and ceramic artist with a background in sculpture and ceramics. I hold a BFA in Sculpture and an MFA from Banaras Hindu University. Over the years, I have worked in studios across India, including Dharamkot, Gurgaon, and Bangalore, and recently completed a residency at Clay Station.
Teaching has been an important part of my practice for several years. I have worked with beginners, young learners, and emerging artists through studio courses, long-term mentorships, and workshops. My focus while teaching is on hand-building, understanding form, and learning how to think in three dimensions. I encourage students to slow down, observe closely, and learn through making rather than rushing towards a finished result.
I teach the way students develop a strong relationship with the material and their own process.
