I've been teaching stock market investing for 7+ years, and I teach it as a practitioner, not as a syllabus. I'm a CFA Charterholder who cleared all three levels in the first attempt, I run a mutual fund distribution and advisory practice, and I manage real capital across Indian and international markets. Everything I teach in class is something I use in my own investing. I head FinLab, the stock market skilling vertical of Poonji Vidhya, which currently runs as a full programme at Neerja Modi School and as course partnerships with colleges. FinLab covers fundamental analysis, technical analysis, and the NISM certification track (Series VIII — Equity Derivatives, Series XV — Research Analyst, Series V-A — Mutual Fund Distributors), each run as a 30-hour structured course. The core of how I teach is application. Every student on the programme gets a managed live trading terminal with ₹20 lakh of virtual capital, so concepts get tested against live market prices in the same week they're taught — position sizing, stop losses, and the discipline of sitting out of a bad setup are learned by doing, not by slide. On the fundamental side, I teach students to read a company the way an analyst does: annual reports, quarterly results, and management commentary from earnings calls. I attend listed company earnings concalls myself, particularly mid and small caps with thin research coverage, and I bring those live cases straight into class. Students learn to build a view on a business, not to chase a tip. I also teach macro and asset allocation — how currency, commodities, and global capital flows move Indian markets — using positions and theses I'm actually running. My students range from school and college students taking their first steps, to working professionals who want to stop losing money in F&O, to MFDs and advisors upgrading their technical knowledge. Classes are in Hinglish, kept in small batches, and built around Indian companies and Indian market realities.
