Dr. Tayyaba Fatma

I am a fashion and textile academic with a Ph.D. in Clothing & Textiles and teaching experience in fashion and textile-related subjects. My academic background and professional experience cover basic concepts of fashion design, textile science, fabric manufacturing, and research relevant to fashion education.

My expertise includes understanding textile fibres, yarns, fabrics, fabric properties, textile processing, and the relationship between textiles and fashion design. I also have practical exposure to spinning, weaving, and dyeing, along with training in fashion CAD and design software.

I have worked as an Assistant Professor, Visiting Faculty, and Guest Faculty, gaining experience in teaching and supporting students in fashion and textile-related academic areas. My research background includes the development, characterization, processing, and evaluation of natural fibres and fabrics, with particular emphasis on applications relevant to fashion and textiles.

For a Fashion Design curriculum, my areas of interest include Fashion Fundamentals, Textile Science, Fibre and Fabric Studies, Fabric Manufacturing Processes, Textile Processing, Sustainable Textiles, Statistical Analysis and Research Methodology. I aim to connect fundamental textile knowledge with fashion design practice and encourage students to understand how fibre, yarn, fabric construction, properties, and processing influence design and garment development.
