During both my M.Sc. and B.Ed. programs, I had opportunities to engage in teaching experiences which helped me understand that teaching is essentially a constructivist process. Through my interactions with students, I realized that learning becomes meaningful when students actively participate in the construction of knowledge rather than passively receiving information. While teaching mathematics, I tried to connect new concepts with students’ prior knowledge, encourage questioning, discussion, and problem-solving, and guide them to arrive at solutions on their own. These experiences helped me understand the role of a teacher as a facilitator of learning, creating opportunities for students to explore ideas, think critically, and develop deeper conceptual understanding.
