Ranjan Basu

I am a government accredited photojournalist, with more than 30 years of experience in various news organisations and as a freelancer. After living through and capturing the thrilling lives of Naxalites in Bastar, the challenging circumstances of men posted at the Siachen border, the struggles of the homeless in the streets of India and the glitter and glamour of some of the great performing artists of India.. I am now looking forward to a quiet life that involves imparting whatever little knowledge I have gained from my life to those who are really passionate about photography. From the little nitty gritties of handling a camera, to the how to practically implement your skills in capturing the real world.. all of this you will gain from my classes.
I have won a National Award for my photography work with Naxalites in Chhatisgarh. I have had the privilege of working with legendary photographer, Raghu Rai in The India Today Group. I have worked with publications like Hindustan Times and Asian Age. I have been teaching photography for the past couple of years.
