Ask a Question
For strictly increasing function f'(x) >0 for given interval
For strictly decreasing function f'(x) <0 for given interval
Here
f'(x) =2x-1 interval (-1, 1)
at x= - 1/2 , f'(x) = -2
at x=3/4 , f'(x) = 1/2
Hence prove function neither strictly increasing nor strictly decreasing in given interval (−1, 1).

This system of equations can be written in the form of AX = B, where

∴ A is a singular matrix.

Matrix A =variable coefficient matrix, rank of A=2
Matrix C = augmented matrix, rank of C =3
System of equation has an inconsistency because rank of matrix A < matrix C. The Solution doesn't exist.
