Remainder is always positive in modular arithmetic if the divisor is positive. According to Euclid's division algorithm lemma remainder in mathematics is always defined as a positive number. So remainder can not be a negative number in any case

The only difference will be instead from having 0-9 we will have 0-9 and then A & B. Try it now. Or you can convert every thing on a base of 10 get the answer and convert it back to base 12.
