For the last 40 years, I have had the privilege of being a teacher, and every year has enriched me in some way. I was fortunate to have wonderful colleagues and mentors who became my role models and taught me that teaching is not merely about completing a syllabus, but about understanding each child and finding the right way to help them learn. I am not a “born teacher”; I have learnt to teach — with passion, patience and a willingness to keep growing. Every child I have taught has, in some way, made me a better teacher. My aim has never been simply to help a child score good marks. I want my students to understand concepts, build strong fundamentals, become confident and get better at their work. I believe every child learns differently and sometimes needs a little more time, a different explanation or simply someone who believes in them. After 40 years in the classroom, that is what I hope to bring to every student — clarity, patience, individual attention and the confidence to say, “I can do this.”
