Shubham Patil

My name is Shubham Vishwas Patil, and I am a basketball coach from Kolhapur, Maharashtra. I was born on 24 March 1995, and basketball has been the center of my life since my school days. I speak Marathi and Hindi fluently, and I am comfortable in English as well.

I started as a player. I represented the district and state at Under-16 level in 2008-09 and played for the Maharashtra School State team at Under-19 level in 2009-10. At university, I won gold medals at the Interzone tournaments for two years, and in 2018-19 I played in the Senior Open State tournament. I am also a basketball state-qualified referee, so I understand the game from the point of view of the player, the coach, and the official.

My education supports my practical experience. I completed my Bachelor of Arts at Shivaji University (2016-2020) and then a Bachelor of Physical Education at Solapur University (2021-2023). In 2019, I earned a Short NIS certificate from the Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports, Patiala. I also hold an MS-CIT certificate, which gives me the computer skills for planning, record-keeping, and communication.

I have worked as a basketball coach for more than ten years. I coached at Cyrus Poonawalla International School from 2016 to 2021, and since 2021 I have been the basketball coach at VIBGYOR School, Kolhapur. Alongside school coaching, I have worked as a coach and team manager for teams at the Maharashtra State Basketball Tournament. For five years, I have served as a team selection member for the Kolhapur District Basketball Association, and I have been giving private basketball coaching for the last five years.

My coaching has produced strong results. In 2022-23 and again in 2023-24, my Under-14 girls team won the DSO Cup in Kolhapur District, and my Under-17 girls team finished second in the DSO Cup both years. In 2024-25, my Under-17 girls team again finished second, and my Under-17 boys team took third place. My Under-12 girls and boys teams have won first and second positions in invitational tournaments. Four of my students have played in the Maharashtra State Basketball Tournament, and one student represented in the Under-16 National Tournament in 2024-25.

I believe my strengths are leadership, management, creativity, and critical thinking. I enjoy learning new sports and exploring new places, and these interests keep me open to new ideas. I am committed to helping young players build skill, discipline, and confidence, and I would bring the same dedication to your organization.
