MFA in Production Design (Costume) from Michigan State Universty’s Department Of Theatre USA.
I am an experienced costume cum fashion designer with specialization in Indian traditional as well as western clothing. Costume illustrations, crafts and pattern making are my key strengths. My classes will include fashion and costume illustration, patterning and construction of garments, fabric dyeing techniques like tie n dye, shibori / bandhani, batik and silk painting.
I completed my bachelor of commerce (B.Com.) degree from the University of Pune. I also secured diplomas in business administration and fashion design in India. My diploma in fashion design from the International Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) is what motivated me to pursue a career in fashion design. After my marriage I moved to United States; leaving behind a small Fashion boutique business I’d started with my sister, however my longing for the world of apparel design did not recede even a bit. During my voluntary work in the costume shop of Michigan State University’s Department Of Theatre I saw a great opportunity to further my career in Costume design.
I completed my MFA in Production Design (Costume) at the Michigan State University’s Department of Theatre and as a designer I designed costumes for Traveling Tales II (2011), A Streetcar Named Desire (2011), Dance Is The Answer (2012), Around The World In Eighty Days (2012) and James And The Giant Peach (2012). I also worked as a technician for several shows and supervised the costume shop in summer 2012. Currently I am residing at Bavdhan, Pune and I urge to share my knowledge and experience with students of fashion and costume designing.

I was weak at illustration or expressing my idea on paper. I had never thought that I would ever be able to do it. But Priya ma'am changed my perception. Learnt so many things from her about the real practical world in fashion. It's not the normal fashion designing Class. Priya ma'am teaches more on a spontaneous practical level than a syllabus oriented approach. And that is what makes her better than the others. The amount of dedication she has, has helped me to be equally dedicated and bring out the creativity from me.

"I was weak at illustration or expressing my idea on paper. I had never thought that I would ever be able to do it. But Priya ma'am changed my perception. Learnt so many things from her about the real practical world in fashion. It's not the normal fashion designing Class. Priya ma'am teaches more on a spontaneous practical level than a syllabus oriented approach. And that is what makes her better than the others. Art and Craft

"The bobble head was finely made with perfect fitting size. The eyes and mouth was so like the same and original mellohead. The led lights stole the show, It was too appealing and the result was crowd was taking selfies with me as marshmellow. Overall it was just way too awesome. Thank you so much for the efforts. "

Fashion Designing

"Priyadarshini is highly talented. I have joined her classes 2 months back and have learnt a lot. Since she has completed her masters in Michigan State University her teaching styles inspires you to think more creatively and out of the box. I already feel that I have achieved my goal in mood boards, pattern making. The small exercises she gives helps retaining the difficult patterns. I highly recommend her to students who have inclination towards fashion designing. "
