Prem Kumar

I am a Pondicherry based recorder player. My interest in European music, particularly of the Baroque period, was inspired by meeting the French harpsichordist Anne-Marie PAILLARD in 1997. She trained me at the Volontariat, a social service centre in Pondicherry, I took my first musical examination in 1999. In 2004 I took 7th and 8th grades and in 2006 I obtained an Associate Diploma of the Trinity college of Music,London, with distinction. In 2004 again with the support of Anne-Marie PAILLARD, my friends and I formed the Puducherry Flute Quartet. Each member of the group plays bass, tenor, treble, descant and spranino instruments, and together we have performed several concerts of Baroque, Classical and modern music in Pondicherry, Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi
