The temperature of ice does not rise when when it melts is because: when ice melts, the temperature is 0 degrees C, or 32 degrees F, the temperature has to stay the same until ALL of the ice melts. The temperature of ice does not rise when when it melts is because: when ice melts, the temperature is 0 degrees C, or 32 degrees F, the temperature has to stay the same until ALL of the ice melts. While some of the ice may already be water, the rest of the ice is yet to be melted, so the temp has to stay at melting point in order to finish melting it. Once all of the ice is melted, then the temperature rises, until it is at boiling point, and does the same thing for the same reason.

If density of object is greater than density of water it will sink. If the density of object is less than the density of water then it will float.

If the force displaces the object in the same direction as the force is applied then work done is positive. If the displacement of object is in opposite direction to that of force then work done is negative.
