It begins with giving some competitive exams, most famous is IITJEE mains followed by IITJEE advanced, which makes your path clear to getting admissions in IITs out there.
Though not smooth like a cup of coffee, but its a right way getting ahead with engineering.
The domain is not restricted to IITs only; there are many state competitive exams as well, the ones which I am aware of are, Jharkhand Combined Entrance test, COMEDK for Bangalore colleges, And MhtCET for Maharashtra colleges.
They all give you a chance to sit in their counselling where you can select upon your favourite Colleges and Branches.
