Another key difference is the introduction of scalar type declarations and return type declarations in PHP 7. In PHP 5, type hinting was available for objects and arrays, but PHP 7 extended this to include scalar types such as int, float, string, and bool. This addition enhances code clarity and helps catch potential type-related errors early in the development process. The inclusion of the Spaceship Operator (<=>), which simplifies the comparison of two expressions, and the introduction of the null coalescing operator (??) are other noteworthy features in PHP 7 that contribute to more concise and expressive code.
