Most programming jobs need a specialized person in a certain language. I have 9 years’ experience in PHP, js, Java and .net. How can I be specialized?

With 9 years of experience, and with having worked in all the technologies you listed above, I assume you built a good base knowledge. What I think is importamt now is building T shape knowledge. What this means is getting a broad base of skills first, and then specializing. When it comes down to what to pick, it’s honestly up to you. Either pick something you already know, which you think has uprising potential, and pursue it and learn everything there is about it. Another way would be to pick something you don’t know, but interests you and you would like to know more about. This option would also be good, as you know what programming is about and should be able to pick up new technologies with ease. Focus on whatever you picked, and let people know that you are an expert in this area. There is no special recipe to becoming in expert, it’s all about educating yourself and sticking with it.
