For sports photography a camera with higher Frame per seconds(6fps) is suitable with a Good Telephoto lens(300mm)

Go for Canon's EOS L-series lenses, if you are serious about wildlife photography - 200mm or above (with 1.6x factor for DSLRs, it becomes 320mm or higher) .
