Indeed, I have had school based teaching experience. Last year during my semester break, I worked for two months at a school as a Maths faculty member. It has been an immensely positive experience during which I developed partnerships with students from Grade 3 to Grade 8. I developed and taught Maths lessons based on their curriculum; broke down complex ideas into simpler concepts using examples from their real-life experiences; planned interactive activities to maintain student engagement; and as an extra bonus, I learned methods to cope with varying issues that arose, such as classroom culture and dynamics, refining my teaching style based on my students' needs, and employing succinct and practical assessment process. The short, but warm experience further solidified my intention to become an educator, as well as offered insight into the varying learning levels found within a classroom. I developed strengths in communication and patience, as well as, explaining concepts in clear terms; all of which are important characteristics of a great educator.
