I have experience working with Punjabi-speaking students in both classroom and one-on-one settings. I supported learners whose first language was Punjabi by simplifying instructions, using visual aids, and occasionally incorporating basic Punjabi words to help with understanding and comfort. I am familiar with common challenges Punjabi-speaking learners face, such as differences in sentence structure, pronunciation, and vocabulary when learning Punjabi. To address this, I used strategies like repetition, modeling correct sentence patterns, and interactive activities such as group discussions and role-playing. I also made an effort to respect and include Punjabi culture in the learning environment, which helped build trust and engagement with students and their families. My approach focuses on creating a supportive and inclusive space where students feel confident practicing their language skills. As a result, students showed improvement in both their communication abilities and classroom participation.
