Paper quilling is done with text weight paper, which is heavier than printer paper but much lighter than card stock. Cardstock does not work well for quilling since it tends to bend instead of roll.

Paper Quilling are generally made with the handmade papers and the quilling strips that are used in different colours to obtain the design patterns. Quilling with paper requires basic tools like slotted tool, needle tool or use of toothpick or needles for making of the paper quilling's.
