While most acrylic paints are considered non-toxic. It's not safe to inhale the same and can affect in ways. Better to avoid it and go for face paints instead.

Will acrylic paint stick to plastic? If not, why?
You can use acrylic paint on plastic. Start by preping it with some spray primer. Ideally two coats. Work in a well ventilated room. Paint in thin layer. Might need 2-3 layers to build the colour. Once dry varnish with a spray varnish.
