Finishing of the made painting is usually Matt finished but when painting is varnished it becomes bit glossy, though varnish make the life of painting longer!

Can you use fabric paint on polyester fabric?
Synthetic materials, like denim, polyester, and nylon, can be more difficult to paint on. Denim can be painted on easily as long as it's pre-washed first. Fabric paint does not work well on polyester and nylon.

How do I begin with a refresher to my childhood painting skills to become professional painter?
Just follow basic steps for 2-3 months and must do arm and wrost exercise contacting with eyes and pencil on sheet. Then after all exercise. Just sketch whatever u see in front of you just carry pencil n sheets first. No medium.
