Just follow basic steps for 2-3 months and must do arm and wrost exercise contacting with eyes and pencil on sheet. Then after all exercise. Just sketch whatever u see in front of you just carry pencil n sheets first. No medium.

Start drawing things you like to draw, then Google, choose & try to copy go for colour wheel, study it & then if you feel you got enough of idea about colour value, focal point, composition etc then go for out door live studies. Good luck.
