What is the difference between a student and a learner?

A learner always want to be as a student for learning new things instead student learn to become graduate.

Student attends class for the sake of getting a degree and marks. Learner - tries to apply the knowledge gained to solve his/others problems. Basically Learner puts his learning to use.

The student is worried about exam / marks / rank etc. The learner is keen to get a thorough knowledge of the subject and can spend a lot of time for it unlike the time schedule of the students.The student must have the spirit of a learner.
